These Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes are a fancy and delicious way to fry your potatoes! They are super easy to make and have amazing flavor. Once you try them, you’ll want to make them again and again!
How To Make Hasselback Potatoes In The Air Fryer:
- Slice the potatoes: Put a potato on a cutting board with two chopsticks or skewers on either side. Cut the potato into ¼ inch slices, but make sure not to cut all the way through because of the chopsticks. Repeat this for the other potatoes.
- Prepare the seasoning: Mix olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Brush the potatoes: Put the potatoes in the air fryer basket and generously brush them with the olive oil mixture, making sure to cover all sides.
- Cook the potatoes: Set the air fryer to 380°F and cook the potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are easily pierced with a fork.
What type of potatoes would be best to use?:
Russet potatoes are an excellent choice for frying as they brown wonderfully in the air fryer. Another potato variety I highly recommend for this purpose is Yukon Golds, which happens to be my second favorite.

Instructions:
- Slice your potatoes: Place a potato on a cutting board between two chopsticks or skewers. Slice the potato into ¼ inch slices, but do not slide the knife down, the chopsticks should prevent you from doing that. Repeat with remaining potatoes.
- Prep the seasoning:Â In a small bowl combine the olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the potatoes:Â Place the potatoes at the bottom of your air fryer basket and brush generously with the olive oil mixture all around.
- Cook the potatoes: Cook at 380°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until fork tender.
tips & notes:
To ensure optimal results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and refrain from stacking the potatoes on top of each other. If you have a small basket, you may only be able to fit two potatoes at a time. Keep in mind that the cooking time may vary depending on the size of your potatoes.
You have the option to peel the potatoes or leave them unpeeled. If you choose to keep the peel, make sure to wash them thoroughly before proceeding with the instructions.
Any leftover potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To regain that delightful crispy texture, simply place your leftover fries in a single layer within the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 350°F and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes, adjusting the time based on your desired level of crispiness.
